This “Finder replacement” neither finds nor replaces, thereby earning ExitToShell() Software a 10.8, which unlike Matrix, is miraculously free of copyright infringement, shoddy toolbar-faking, and teen-angst laden documentation.
Posted by ladd at September 18, 2003 11:57 PM | TrackBackMan, Rixter's going to have kittens if he sees you guys reviewing pre-release software.
Of course, this product will never, ever get any nearer release anyway, so it's hard to see how even the Rixter can complain about the horrible (yet so brief!) panning of development-grade software.
I'm sure he'll find a way.
My daughter would love one of those kittens ...
Posted by: aussie boy on September 19, 2003 01:58 AMI would love your daughter's kitten too.
Posted by: Previously Insane on September 19, 2003 08:03 AMFirst beta software, now preview software?
Come on, people, are you honestly saying there's no more crappy final release software out there?
Posted by: on September 19, 2003 11:33 AMWhere's my fancy chicken??????
Posted by: Hodag on September 19, 2003 01:02 PMWe ate your fancy chicken. With fancy ketchup from Arby's.
Posted by: fuddes on September 19, 2003 01:46 PMAhem, in keeping with the feline theme from above, that should be catsup. Made from 100% cat.
And I must protest in the name of the Emperor (which I think is Emperor....) this release of constantly more non-released software. Please under no circumstances proceed to review software still in the middle of coding, software still in the design phase, and especially not software in the conceptual phase. That last one is the jurisdiction of the Ordo Hereticus Inquisitors, and don't you be sticking your noses, arms, or other body parts into that.
After all, they burn things. Lots of things. Anything. Especially things doused in gasoline or other flammable liquids. And they use flamethrowers, not lighters, to do it. A bunch of obsessive compulsive pyromaniacs, those Hereticus people are....
A little care, previously insane. My daughter is only seven years old.
Posted by: aussie boy on September 20, 2003 03:28 AMDoes she have a kitten? You know, it's a proven fact that girls who grow up with a baby kitten as a pet are 10 times more likely to become serial killers.
Oh, and Laemkral, it's ketchup, not catsup. Webster's New World Dictionary says so. And so does Arby's.
Posted by: fuddes on September 20, 2003 01:22 PMNo, my daughter doesn't have a kitten, and for the very reason you cite so perceptively.
But I feel you are being a little disingenuous about "catsup" versus "ketchup". Most dictionaries I've checked -- US, UK and Australian -- list catsup as a variant spelling, chiefly US.
However, facts are a terrible thing to insert into a good argument, so have at it, old thong-snapper, and good health to ye!
